Introduction

By sharing our approach with others, we hope to inspire and guide our suppliers and other companies to initiate similar programmes across their supply chains. We have found that our sustainable supply chain management has strengthened our risk management and improved our relationships with our suppliers and customers. We believe other companies can benefit in the same way.

There are numerous ways to approach sustainable supply chain management. Our specific approach may not be the right one for your company. We have therefore provided a ‘diagnostic’ tool developed by The Nordic Partnership. Use this tool to guide you through some of the issues you need to consider when developing your own programme.

Please note that we evaluate many but not all of our suppliers on social and environmental issues. For some of our suppliers, ie those supplying our R&D operations, we take a slightly different approach to the one described here. We are also still in the process of expanding our evaluation to cover all the suppliers we think should be covered. We hope to achieve this in the near future.
